What Moving Ranger is
Moving Ranger is an independent online marketplace run by industry professionals with 20+ years of experience working with moving brokers and carriers. Moving Ranger is not a moving broker, not a motor carrier, and is not licensed, bonded, or insured as a mover — we do not arrange, sell, or transport household goods moves ourselves. We only share your request with moving brokers and carriers that are licensed, bonded, and insured, hold active FMCSA US DOT / MC authority where applicable, and have passed our screening. Final pricing, availability, and service terms are set by the moving provider you choose.
What Moving Ranger is not
- Not a moving broker. We do not arrange or sell interstate household-goods transportation.
- Not a motor carrier. We do not own trucks, employ crews, or transport household goods.
- Not licensed, bonded, or insured as a mover. We do not hold FMCSA broker or carrier authority. Licensing, bonding, and cargo/liability insurance are held by the moving brokers and carriers we refer you to — not by Moving Ranger.
Who we are
Moving Ranger is an independent online marketplace run by industry professionals with more than two decades of experience working inside moving brokers and moving carriers. We built Moving Ranger to help consumers avoid the most common moving scams by only referring them to companies that have passed our screening.
How we screen providers
We only share your move request with moving brokers and moving carriers that are licensed, bonded, and insured, hold active FMCSA US DOT and/or MC authority where applicable, carry required cargo and liability insurance, and meet our internal reputation and service standards. You can independently verify any US-based broker or carrier at the FMCSA's SAFER website.
How we match you
When you submit a quote request, we send your move details to up to three screened moving brokers or carriers based on your route, dates, and inventory. We do not run an auction and we do not blast your information to a long list of competing companies.
Estimates vs. binding quotes
Any ranges shown on this site or in the cost calculator are non-binding estimates based on home size, distance, and typical industry pricing. A binding written estimate is issued by the licensed moving broker or carrier after they review your specific inventory and move details.
Compensation
Moving Ranger may receive a referral or marketing fee from the moving broker or carrier you connect with. This does not increase the price you pay — the provider's published tariff and estimate terms apply.
Complaints
If you have an issue with a move, file a complaint directly with the FMCSA's National Consumer Complaint Database at nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov. You can also contact us so we can review the provider's standing in our network.
